This is a music video for the South African band, Oursilence’s song ‘Elysian Fields’. As a band, we do everything ourselves, from our music production, to the production of our videos.

We shot everything on a Canon 5D Mark II, with an old Asahi Pentax 50mm lens and extension tubes. I hope you guys like it!! ;)

I took a moment to watch this after it was submitted to this blog by riku-awakening and was blown away at how much I liked it.  If you guys have a couple of hours free, go to www.presspauseplay.com and get the free download to watch this.  It was beautifully made and it’s a message all filmmakers/artists of any sort can understand.  Go check it out!

SUMMARY
A student film about a drunk student Filmaker…..
The aim of this film is to show and explore how modern University life goes hand in hand with heavy drinking, and to prove this I got drunk….very drunk, over a 75ml bottle of cheap and nasty spirits a day for 7 days and filmed it all. This isn’t a film about health issues its about the lives students live for better or worse.

This is the full length version of the documentary there is also a 15 minute version that has been entered into the BFI Doc Festival.

Prep is always the most satisfying moment, because that’s when you define the look of the film with all your dreams and desires. The shoot brings you back to the reality of what you can and cannot do. The shoot is disappointment with good surprises.
